RE-START PHILOSOPHY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The “Energetic Recovery System” is the result of a complex process of philosophy and communication, resulting from the conscious perception of cultural changes and the changing demands on life caused by it. At present, we are experiencing the conquest of transversality of our post-modern culture and simultaneously a serious transvaluation of our system of values. The people of the twentyfirst century replace the dogma of “evolution of continuity” by the finding of a “continuity of evolution”, a constant breakthrough of the Self and a quest for a sense of life and co-evolution. The systematical production of spirit and the generation of new realities in Flow of L.I.F.E. (1) thus present the new challenges for people, markets, and enterprises. The need for new life strategies for a ritual crossing of boundaries calls for a new consciousness and the reactivation of forgotten spiritual resources. We need new spaces, myths, and methods. The “Energetic Recovery System” is a sort of washing plant for humans who do not only want to cleanse their bodies, but also their minds, clearing it from everyday trouble and charging it with new creative energy. This is about rediscovering the balance between the physical and spiritual part of our body. Six special phases interact in strengthening the mental energy in order to set free a morphic force-field for a new consciousness. zu (in) uns” CLAUDIA NEUMANN IM GESPRÄCH MIT MIKE MEIRÉ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Die Firma Dornbracht beschäftigt sich seit einigen Jahren intensiv mit dem Thema „Badkultur“ und nähert sich dem Thema immer auch wieder experimentell, entweder in der Zusammenarbeit mit Designerinnen und Designern oder in der mit Künstlerinnen und Künstlern. Sie selbst haben zahlreiche künstlerische Projekte für Dornbracht kuratiert und sind seit vielen Jahren die betreuende Agentur für Design, Culture and Communication. Nun haben Sie für die Messe „Abitare il Tempo“ eine eigene Installation entwickelt. Was ist die Grundidee Ihres Energetic Recovery System (E-R-S)? Ich habe mich gefragt, ob man nicht das Phänomen einer Waschstraße in eine Art ritualhafte Motorik für eine Wasch-Performance übertragen könnte. Ausgehend von dem Gedanken, dass alles Materie ist, formuliere ich die Überlegung, ob Materie nicht wieder in eine Energie spendende Ebene zurückgeführt werden kann. Es geht darum, dass neben der äußeren Welt auch immer eine innere Welt existiert. Weil es immer diese zwei Seiten gibt, bedarf es eines „re-balancing“. Für den Menschen in der Pipeline bedeutet das, dass er die Möglichkeit erhält, sich zu „re-designen“. Die Pipeline oder Waschstraße wird damit zu einem Gefährt, das in neue Erlebnis-Dimensionen führt. Es geht um die Frage, welche Ressourcen wir in uns haben. Was steckt in uns drin? Was können wir mobilisieren, um zu neuen Horizonten zu gelangen? Auf diesem Weg brauchen wir Brücken. Vielleicht ist die Pipeline eine solche Brücke oder ein Boot, eine Fähre, die uns zum nächsten Ufer bringt. Es geht insgesamt um den Gedanken des „re-entry“, und es beginnt logischerweise mit einer Art „re-start“. Das alles spiegelt die Idee oder Philosophie einer transversalen Kulturepoche. Wie muss man sich das E-R-S vorstellen: Gibt es auf der „Abitare il Tempo“ eine Art monumentale Architektur? Die von mir entwickelte Pipeline besteht aus sechs Phasen. Für die „Abitare il Tempo“ wurden zwei Phasen realisiert. Wir haben uns entschieden, ein Modell im größtmöglichen Maßstab von 1:6 zu errichten. Die zweite und dritte Phase wurden aber im Maßstab 1:1 gebaut, damit man ein Gefühl für die räumliche Dimension bekommt. Zusätzlich wurde aber auch der Film „up there“ entwicket. Dieser Film spiegelt die Innenwelt des Menschen. Er simuliert die Gefühle, die ein Mensch erleben würde, wenn er die Möglichkeit hätte, die ganze Pipeline im Maßstab 1:1 zu durchlaufen. Was erlebt ein Mensch konkret, der sich in das Energetic Recovery System, also in Ihre Pipeline, begibt? Die Pipeline ist eine kommunikative Performance. Sie gibt dem Menschen die Möglichkeit, sein Bewusstsein zu reinigen, indem er es entleert. Es geht ja um die Frage, wie für diese Komplexität an Welt Energie aufgebaut werden kann, wenn nicht gleichzeitig irgendwo für den notwendigen mentalen Frei-Raum gesorgt wird. Denn Energie entlädt ihre schöpferische Kraft nur in leeren Räumen. Der Körper des Menschen in der Pipeline wird als Gefäß definiert, das dort entschlackt, entleert wird. Der Mensch erlebt eine Reise, bei der Realität neben Virtualität steht. Das kann man nicht mehr von einander trennen. Virtualität ist nichts anderes als eine Als-ob-Realität. Es gibt zum Beispiel ein stroboskopähnlich flackerndes Lichtportal, das die kognitiven, rationalen Denkmuster der Menschen ausblenden will, damit sie das Gefühl, „entleert“ zu werden, erleben können. Die klassische Frage: In welchem Verhältnis stehen für Sie Inhalt und Form? Für mich besitzt das Projekt eine Form, eine Ästhetik, die aber letztendlich nur der Kanalisierung einer ganz bestimmten Form der Energie dient. Mich interessiert die Collage, also weniger das formale Endergebnis, sondern der Prozess, der Weg dorthin. Dieser ist beim Energetic Recovery System sehr assoziativ. Stammen die Anregungen für die Pipeline eher aus der Welt der Kunst, lassen Sie sich von Entwicklungen und Persönlichkeiten im Designbereich inspirieren, oder haben Sie sich von einer ganz anderen Seite genähert? Meine Referenzen beziehen sich ganz klar auf die inhaltlichen Aspekte. Ich habe intensiv die Bücher von Jiddu Krischnamurti gelesen und sie anschließend von einem ästhetischen Aspekt aus betrachtet. Von großer Bedeutung waren für mich auch die langjährigen Auseinandersetzungen und tiefen Gespräche mit Gerd Gerken. Wichtig war auch Jean Piaget. Auf ihn geht ein Thema zurück, das mich besonders interessiert: Mein Rohstoff ist weder Holz noch Stein. Mein Rohstoff ist das Bewusstsein für Energie. Ich wollte diese Energie an die mentale Ressource des Menschen koppeln und dafür einen Prozess formen, in dem der Mensch sich von sich befreien kann um dann neue Energie aufladen zu können. Sie kommen ursprünglich aus der Kommunikation. Verstehen Sie sich hier explizit als Designer? Und welche Aufgaben haben Designer heute Ihrer Ansicht nach? Wie ist Ihr Selbstverständnis? Der Designer ist per Definition ein Gestalter. Damit ist er jemand, der etwas formt. Im Moment müssen wir neue Werte gestalten, und dann können wir wieder über Form sprechen. Wir sollten erst wieder einmal einen Zugang zu uns finden, eine Art Clearing betreiben. Lernen uns selbst zu vertrauen. Spüren, was wir wirklich wollen und für dieses Gefühl eine formale Identität finden. Kommen diese Gedanken nicht aus dem Bereich des New Age? New Age impliziert das Austreten aus dieser Gesellschaft.Mir geht es um das bewusste Mitgestalten unsere Kultur.. Es geht um Klarheit und um das holistische Wahrnehmen der Welt. Alles steht mit Allem und Jedem in Beziehung. Letztendlich geht es um Liebe, nicht um billige Klischee-Emotionen. Das ist auch der Grund, warum eine bestimmte Form der Werbung nicht mehr funktioniert. Sie verharren in der äusseren Form. sie haben keinen Zugang zur Innerlichkeit, und somit keine Relevanz. Versteht der Besucher der Pipeline diesen komplexen Prozess? Haben Sie nicht Sorge, dass man Ihnen Manipulation vorwirft? Natürlich gibt es vielfach Ängste, gewisse Tabugrenzen zu übertreten, wenn es um Spirituelles, Religiöses, den Bereich der Seele geht. Und mir geht es ja tatsächlich um die Auflösung des konditionierten Bewusstseins. Aber, hätten Sie Angst davor? Und wenn ja, warum haben Sie Angst davor? Es ist die Angst vor dem Kontrollverlust. Wenn man in die Pipeline geht, muss man sich darüber im Klaren sein, dass man seine Kontrolle aufgibt, um zu neuen Sichtweisen zu gelangen. Wer in die Pipeline geht, löst sich im Mythos der Reinigung auf. Ich bin mir bewusst, dass der Vorwurf kommen wird, diese Maschine betreibe Manipulation, und dass all das, was die Identität eines Menschen eigentlich ausmacht, ihm entzogen wird und ihn handlungsunfähig macht, da ihm seine Selbstkontrolle genommen wird. Dem muss ich entgegensetzen: Das Problem, warum wir uns in permanenten Konflikten befinden, ist ja diese Urangst vor dem Kontrollverlust. Diese Urangst muss durch Urvertrauen ersetzt werden. Wir müssen ein Urvertrauen in das uns Unbekannte entwickeln. Ansonsten wird Veränderung, wird Innovation gar nicht erst möglich. Dann werden nach wie vor nur optische Variationen des bereits Bestehenden Produziert. Inwiefern steht die Pipeline, das E-R-S, mit dem Thema Baden und Badkultur in Verbindung, das ja für Dornbracht sehr wichtig ist? Beim E-R-S ging es mir nicht darum, einen ästhetischen Entwurf für ein futuristisches Badezimmer zu entwickeln. Es ging eher darum, dass man in einem Badezimmer gewisse Rituale erleben kann, die das Bewusstsein schärfen. Ich wollte meine eigenen Erfahrungen mit einer möglichen Produktebene zusammenführen. | Ritual, Kultur und Religion. Religionen manifestieren sich in Kultur. Kulturen wachsen aus dem Geist einer Religion. Jede Religion und jede Kultur hat ihre Rituale. Das Bad könnte ein Tempel werden, es ist die eigene Kirche in der Wohnung. Also folgt daraus, dass die Produkte immer stärker Fetisch-Charakter bekommen sollten. Die Küche wurde in den letzten Jahren zum Ort der Kommunikation. Das Bad aber wurde zum Ort der Selbstreflexion. Baden an sich hat ja postembryonale Assoziation, das Sich-Treiben-Lassen. In der Badewanne ist das Wasser das Element, das dich trägt. Das hat etwas Ruhevolles, Weihevolles. Sich-Waschen hat für mich einen rituellen Charakter. Wenn man den Badeprozess bewusst durchlebt, ist es Meditation. Darum geht es meiner Ansicht nach: das Dogma des postmodernen Zeitalters, das „Werden von Kontinuität“, umzuwandeln in die „Kontinuität des Werdens“. Das Sich-Wiederfinden in endlosen Übergängen, im „flow of life“. Wie passt das zur Gesamtstrategie Ihres Auftraggebers Dornbracht? Wichtig ist, von der Bekanntheit einer Marke zur Bedeutsamkeit einer Marke zu kommen. Und das schafft man nur, wenn man auch Bewusstseinsprozesse einleitet. Kommunikation per se ist ein Produkt geworden. Was tut ein Unternehmen, das nur alle zwei, drei Jahre ein technologisch neues Produkt auf den Markt bringen kann, sonst noch? Hier spielt die Kommunikation eine wesentliche Rolle, weil sie das Unternehmen in einer evolutionären Schwingung hält. |

Here are some of the questions I would like to ask: 0 E-R-S, explain the project? 1 E-R-S, how did the project started; what was the first seed to the idéa? 2 Why did you choose the bathing theme for the installation? 3 Do people need the E-R-S? 4 It is made by a lamp factory, why? 5 Mind washing sounds a bit frightening, do one dare to enter the tube? 6 There is no entry on the end of the tube, are one supposed to go backwords out? How is the re-entering to the world to be done? 7 Chakra light portals – explain them! 8 Is it only o prototype or does it really work? Have you tried it? 9 What other projects have you / Meiré und Meiré done? Here my answers: 1) The project is about combining the bathroom area with a meditation room. The kitchen in our houses became the place of communication- so I think the bathroom will become the place of self-reflection. It is all about rebalancing our life. We are so much influenced by the material world (don´t take this as a critic- it is just a fact) that the time is right for an immaterial, spiritual reflection. People start looking for something they can believe in. Our Post Modern culture is coming to an end and so we are realising that our values are changing too. We are searching for a higher, more complex thought. A “reason why”. Life is complex and challenging. And changing all the time. And so our minds should be open and able to change too. So I think that my pipeline E-R-S could become a special place where we can reactivate our forgotton spiritual resources. A place where we can get our energy back. Physically and mentally. Because in this new upcoming epoche of transversality we have to create our own reality over and over again. So we need a deep trust in what we create. So I think it will be good if we start listen to our inner voice, not beeing afraid all the time and return to a way of life that corresponds to the entity within us. -- 2) Four years ago a magazine asked me for a bathroom vision. At that time I wanted to transforme the efficiency of a car-washing plant into a science fiction bathroom. Later on I understood that the different phases could be used for special body and mind treatments. A washing plant for humans who do not only want to cleanse their bodies, but also their minds, clearing it from everyday trouble and charging it with new creative energy. -- 3) Do people need Prada? -- 4) No. It is made possible by Dornbracht. A manufacture for bathroom fittings, interiors and culture projects. But nowadays they do produce lamps, too. -- 5) It is not about mind washing. I do not want to manipulate. That would be evil. It is about understanding evolution. Normally people are so proud of what they know that it becomes part of their ego. They think, the more they know- the better they are. But this is a misconception. Our mind will be always limited. (It doesn´t matter how much we know.) And we always judge and critizise on that limited base. In the end our mind will never be free. Free your mind. Free your heart. Free your soul. -- 6) I wanted to close the tube to feel more protected while I am re-inventing my life. When I go back I will feel very thankful for all the different phases who helped me to find myself again. Going back is already part of the ritual to re-entering the world. When you get out of the tube you will feel with your heart and understand that life is a miracle. Nothing has changed. But everything will be different. Because you have changed. (Life is a miracle - we do not realise that anymore because we are soo busy with beeing busy.) -- 7) When you do meditation you know about the chakra. It´s a believe-system. There are seven energy center inside your body. Like a chain of pearls. Through special breathing technics you are able to create an enormous energy force-field. When I do my meditations I like to use these special flickering lights in combination with a heavy seven-step soundtrack according the seven chakras. Flickering lights have an interesting sideeffect on the brain: they temporary “burn” out the rational filters and make the rational part of the brain sleepy. It is great when this “brainmachine” sleeps away. You get easier to your subconscious. The zone where potentiality is happening. No intellectual “brainfucking” anymore. There is no fear, there are no limits. Only power and confidence. The virgin-like perfect mind base for a personal restart. -- 8) It is a prototype. But the different phases are based on my personal experiences with meditation and reading technical literature. That´s why I say: INNER EXPERIENCE MAKES US BELIEVE -- 9) It´s a very long story... ;-) |
